Public Meeting
*IMPORTANT* Please read and share: We are aware of the breaking of ground for the apartments on Huffmeister. However, they DO NOT have their permits approved through TCEQ. The Public Meeting is to be held Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 at 7:00PM at Spillane Middle School. KAY SMITH talked directly with the person handling this particular permit. It is important to show up so they know the community is in unity about the building of these apartments. It still has several steps after this meeting for approval. This concerns all of us since this will be a yearly issue with other developments. Here is the information Kay received, and the photo is her email from Larry Diamond:
"Everyone is concerned about the amount of activity going on at the Huffmeister location.
I called and spoke with TCEQ this morning. The first lady I spoke with stated that TCEQ has
no jurisdiction over the Developers activity on his property. He may be very confident of the
permit outcome and is proceeding. But TCEQ is “Waste Water” permitting only.

I then spoke with Larry Diamond who is assigned to this particular permit.
He has provided information below that I requested from him.
If you read his breakdown on what is to transpire regarding this permit, there are
several steps to go.

1. The meeting on November 12th is a “meeting” not a hearing.
The developer will present and answer questions as well as those in attendance.

2. Executive Director has 2 months to prepare a response.
3. A 30 day period begins after response from Ex Director to get additional “Hearing” request.
4. Hearing schedule before the TCEQ Commissioners
5. Preliminary hearing withSOAH is scheduled. Judge make final decision.
Larry Diamond expects this will not happen before Spring of 2016 and adds that because
of the large amount of opposition to this permit, could be as late as Summer 2016

Re: #15307: The Cypress Glen Apartment Homes - 14503 Grant Road
#15150: Woodridge Place - 15912 Telge Road
Dear Mr. Irvine:
I would like to file my opposition to the above referenced developments.
I am greatly concerned over the additional burden added to already overburdened community services such as emergency services, schools, roads, hospitals, etc. I am also greatly concerned with the added crime that traditionally follows these types of multifamily developments. Please reference the following link pertaining to the same developer (LDG Development) for #15150: http://www. theindychannel.com/news/apart. ..
I have children in the district and the size of each classroom prohibits the teachers from providing quality time with each student.
The school bus service is overburdened and it is becoming increasingly unsafe for children traveling to and from school due to overcrowding and increased traffic.
We already have three low-income housing developments within this area and cannot support another.
Sincerely,
